US credit card holders cannot pay
US credit card holders can’t pay. In the first nine months of 2024, the number of unpaid credit card debts rose to 46 billion, the highest figure since 2010. The number of delinquent credit card debts has now increased by over 50% compared to the previous year. Delinquencies on seriously delinquent credit card loans have more than doubled in the last 2 years. Consumers with the lowest incomes were hit the hardest due to years of elevated inflation and interest rates. In addition, the savings rate for the bottom third is now 0%, according to Moody’s.
