Technical Analysis of Viaplay Group

(ticker on Nasdaq Stockholm: VPLAY B)

The Viaplay share has triggered positive technical signals recently and further upside is signaled for the share in the short and medium term. The stock has shown a very weak development since the winter of 2023, but over the past year the stock has consolidated and established a large rectangle consolidation formation, where there is technical support for the stock around SEK 0.60 and resistance around SEK 1.10.

A breach of one of these two levels will give new signals about future developments.

In the short term, the share has broken out of a falling trend and above a technical resistance level around SEK 0.70.

There is now technical support for the share around SEK 0.70 in the event of a downward correction.

The stock has shown an overbought situation in the very short term and according to momentum indicators such as RSI and Stochastics, and the stock is down around six percent on Tuesday morning to around SEK 0.75.

A break above the SEK 1.10 level would trigger a strong technical buy signal for the stock, which could then have a potential all the way up to the SEK 3.00 level.

There is otherwise a positive volume balance in the share, which underpins the positive technical picture that the share is showing.

In the short term, further upside is indicated to test the resistance level around SEK 1.10.

The BEST model in Vikingen has also provided a buy signal for Viaplay. This popular and effective technical analysis model was developed by Peter Östevik. He finalized the BEST model around 2019, and after 30 years of experience with technical analysis and Vikingen Financial Software.

Based on the overall technical picture shown by the stock, Aksjeanalyser.com considers the Viaplay stock to be an exciting and interesting buy candidate in the range of SEK 0.70 – 0.75. What could potentially change the current positive technical picture that the share shows, would be if it were to break down below the SEK 0.70 level. Then a new test of the support level around SEK 0.60 would be signaled. It should also be noted that there have been several insider purchases in the company since the Q4 2024 report on February 20, 2025.

20 feb. 07:46 ∙ Nyhetsbyrån Direkt. Source.

STOCKHOLM (Nyhetsbyrån Direkt) Viaplay’s organic streaming subscription sales growth of 5 percent in the fourth quarter was driven by price adjustments in all markets in combination with a favorable mix effect.

This is what CEO Jørgen Madsen Lindemann writes in the report.

The mix benefited from a growing D2C subscriber base, mainly driven by sports packages.

Viaplay’s average revenue per subscriber (ARPU) in D2C for its core business continued to develop positively, both sequentially and compared to the previous year, according to the CEO.

Organic sales growth in linear channel subscriptions amounted to 9 percent and was driven by price increases and new distribution agreements with key partners.

Sports sub licensing and new partnership agreements contributed to organic growth of 13 percent in Sub licensing and other.

“We have made progress in 2024, and much remains to be done as we continue to transform Viaplay Group into a strong and sustainable company for the benefit of all our stakeholders,” writes CEO Jørgen Madsen Lindemann.
