Starbucks is now the second largest restaurant chain in the world
In a shift in the fast food landscape, Starbucks has overtaken Subway to claim the title of the world’s second largest restaurant chain. According to data from Technomic, Starbucks surpassed Subway last year, with an impressive 38,587 locations globally, while Subway lagged behind with a total of 36,516 stores. Above both these chains is McDonald’s, with 41,882 locations worldwide. Of these, a third of the hamburger chain’s restaurants are in the US.
