According to Robert Armstrong of the Financial Times, there are two reasons for this.
1. Big Tech stocks’ strong free cash flow, high barriers to entry and central place in the modern economy make them sensible stocks to own when the world starts to falter.
2. These seven stocks rise on one story. The narrative, roughly speaking, is that AI will become a bigger thing than the internet, PC, printing press, wheel and fire combined, and that the mega-technologies are best positioned to take advantage of this. Market stories are not tightly linked to facts, and they don’t last forever, remember Metaverse?
