A record amount of government debt will fall due next year

A record $8.9 trillion of government debt will come due in the US next year. At the same time, the country’s public deficit in 2024 is projected to be 1.4 trillion dollars.

This means that someone will have to buy more than $10 trillion in US government bonds in 2024.

That’s almost a third of all outstanding US federal debt right now.
All while the Fed is expected to start cutting interest rates, making it less attractive to buy these bonds. Who will finance this record level of public debt?
